Harley Benton Fusion-III Guitar review

Discover the truth behind the buzz surrounding Harley Benton Fusion guitars as I hunt for an affordable yet exceptional instrument to enhance my courses, books, and videos. Enter the scene: the dazzling 25th Anniversary model, cloaked in an elegant gold finish, instantly capturing my intrigue.

Priced at an astonishing £389, the specifications and tactile experience of this guitar are nothing short of remarkable. A gig bag is even included, adding an unexpected bonus to the package.

Featuring a roasted maple neck and fingerboard, illuminated by glow-in-the-dark side dots primed for dimly lit stages, the Fusion III boasts black binding and a modern C-shaped guitar neck. Its slightly curved fretboard radius, akin to my cherished MusicMan guitars, delivers a familiarity that's perfect for unleashing intricate shredding maneuvers.

Navigating its versatility, a 5-way switch, master volume, and master tone with a push/pull function for swift toggling between single coil and humbucker modes await your command. Embrace the auditory marvel of budget Tesla VR-2B AlNiCo-5 humbucker (bridge), Tesla VR-1M AlNiCo-5 single coil (middle), and Tesla VR-1N AlNiCo-5 single coil (neck) pickups.

As if the guitar's features weren't enough, it boasts lock-in die-cast tuners, gleaming chrome hardware, a Wilkinson 50IIK 2-point tremolo, and a remarkable 24 medium jumbo stainless steel frets arrangement. All of this, remarkably, at a mere £389. The madness of this offer is undeniable.

My final thoughts on guitar.....

To me, this guitar stands out as excellent for both beginners and pros. Without a doubt, it's the finest affordable guitar I've ever experienced. The specifications it offers for under £400 are simply astonishing. Moreover, its price leaves room for pickup upgrades, although the Tesla pickups it comes with already sound fantastic! As a professional guitarist, I'm completely content to employ this instrument for recording, studio sessions, and live performances.

An added advantage is that, given I have kids, I don't need to stress about leaving it unattended since it's not an overly pricey equipment, haha! Still, the appearance is quite exquisite, featuring black binding and a lovely golden satin finish. In my opinion, the Tesla pickups exhibit remarkable versatility, striking a harmonious balance between the distinct stratocaster tone and the richer, heavier tones achievable through the HSS configuration. These pickups distinctly capture both the sharp attack of the pick and the unique character of the player's style, all while maintaining a strong sense of dynamics.
